These simple techniques are designed to help you identify abnormalities in your breasts that may indicate problems or symptoms of poor health issues. Performing these simple tests will keep you healthy and feeling your best. Take a few minutes to perform these regularly, and don’t forget the following:
▪Annual visit to the doctor with clinical breast examination.
▪Annual mammogram after age 35.
Monthly Self Examination Techniques
If you practice these of self-examinations two days after the end your period, when your breasts are less tender, they can help prevent identify any health problems in your breasts. Reclining, standing or in the shower.
With your left hand, the three middle fingers, together and flattened, perform circular motions on your right breast (and vice-versa for the left breast), pressing softly, yet firmly at each point, feeling around the periphery, clockwise, until you reach the nipple.
Movements performed in a crossing pattern.
Horizontally: From the armpit to the inside of the breast. Vertically: Draw a line from top to bottom of the breast. To the nipple in both cases.
